Android emulator is not working: What should I do?

I don’t have any idea that’s what wrong but my Android emulator is not working. I have installed all the necessary files as listed by http://developer.android.com/sdk/install. But when I run a program, the emulator just displays 'ANDROID' and nothing else. Before you reply I must tell you the specifications … I am using a Pentium 2 processor (2.8 GHZ) with 512 MB RAM. I will thankful for all your suggestions and help.

Hey friend, I can understand the problem but first of all I want to tell you that only installing all the files does not mean that your android has been installed properly and will work. It is necessary to see that every file is downloaded properly. And if you have followed it correctly then everything should work properly. I know this will sound odd to you but it is the fact.

If you are very much sure that everything was done right then just try to copy paste your code into a new project and try to launch it again. The other thing that you can do is just switch off your phone, take out the battery and restart it. Perhaps it will work for you. Because when I faced this problem I done the same and the android started working.
