How to get new android update?

Hey guys me and my brother both have android phones “HTC Desire” he is using it from last year and I bought it this week only and this morning he showed me how his market was brand new, and had a lot of new features. But mine was just the same old normal android market. So I need android update to my HTC Desire Can anyone explain to me in detail how I can update it, don’t want to take my brother help for this? Please help.

Hi friend I will really like to help you with android updation. To update your android first of all press the menu button on android phone and select settings to open settings menu. You will see the about option when you scroll down. Tap the option and then select system updates. If an update to Android operating system is available phone will automatically download and install it. If the screen says your system is currently up to date then it means that there are no updates available.
