Best at&t cell phone plans for roaming?

Working professional from San Francisco, subscribed to sprint cellular services but am really concerned over my high rising cell phone bills and to tackle this problem I am looking to change my network operator. I find at&t as a good alternative due to its wide coverage round the nation but really don't have much information on which plan I should chose to put a tab on my rising cell phone bills. I do a lot of calling local but the main reason behind my rising bills is the fact that i stay in roaming most of the time. So do anyone got any interesting at&t plan that could do the rescue.
