which cable is required to tether iphone?

I will be receiving my IPad next week and will be looking to tether my 3G signal from my Iphone. I am confused with the procedure of tethering. Can anyone confirm what cable is required so I can plug the Iphone into the IPad and use the signal? Any suggestion and advice will be highly appreciated. Please try only to provide expert advice. Thanks in advance. Have a nice day.

No cable is required. You need to sign up for the WIFI hotspot feature with your carrier unless they enable it be default. Once the HotSpot feature is enabled, you go to settings and turn on WIFI HotSpot on the phone and then go to Settings on your iPad and connect to your phone as a WiFi access point. No cable, all wireless. The iPad will see the iPhone as a wifi network assuming that you have an iPhone 4 or 3G with iOS 4.3+ on it and you carrier allows it. Bluetooth has also nothing to do with it. I hope you are satisfied with the answer enjoy and have a nice day.
