How to get a cell phone card in delhi?

My wife is traveling to India later this month. She'll be in the mountains, where there are few landlines, but from her experience last time there is sufficient cell phone service. Does anyone have experience buying a pre-paid mobile phone like this in India? Can she do it at the Delhi airport? Does anyone have any experience with cell phones there? What is the most inexpensive way to get a cell phone card? Please help

One of the best shopping can be done in India is a mobile phone to move around the country by paying such cheap fares that exist there. The good thing is that you can make international calls without paying the atrocities that we are accustomed to operating companies in Spain, who walks with no nose! But not enough to buy a SIM card and put it on your mobile phone? NO, does not work, you must have a mobile Indian.

Requirements to get Indian Mobile

First, find a phone shop of many that exist in most tourist places. For example, in Delhi in Paharganj I got in an alley that opened in the Main Bazaar.

Once there, we need:

The Indian mobile phone. I bought a Nokia super easy with black and white screen for 1200 rs (change about 20 €). As a curiosity that I bought this phone has a small built in flashlight that is great for walking at night the streets are not lit.

A prepaid card

It is very important to know that India is divided into states, and if our card is only valid for Delhi call when we cannot get out of there, so it's best to buy a card for the entire country. It seems that Vodafone is the best indicator. The price of the card is the one you want, I got a 150 rs (2 € and a half)
A photocopy of the passport. They themselves will make it in the store.
A passport photograph
Miscellaneous. You're supposed to have a place of residence as you are working in India and have a fixed residence, but you say the name of hotel or guesthouse where you are is enough,do not put many drawbacks.

Signing the contract and you're done.
