from where to get codec for Windows Media Player to play MPG2 files?

I own a new Dell notebook preloaded with Windows 7 Starter. I haven't connected it to the internet yet, so it hasn't downloaded any updates or anything. But when I tried to play some of my videos, which were in mpg2 format it played them as audio only, the same way it would play an MP3. This is annoying, because I've never had this problem on any other computer. I've been told that I just need to download a codec that will let it play the files. But I don’t know from where to get the codec’s as similar to my problem. Please help in getting the codec’s by sending your valuable suggestions. Thanks so much!

Alright, you want to download the codec for Windows Media Player, so I want tell you that please connect your laptop or PC to the internet because the codec for windows media player is automatically updated when you connect your PC to the internet, the other way is that you have to download this codec software from the Microsoft web site, on the Microsoft website click on the download menu and then you can easily find your codec pack for windows media player. Or you can directly download this software from the internet, I recommend you some website name from where you can easily download this software web site like, c net, brother soft, aphiit etc gives you all the plug-inand software for windows media player, you don’t have to pay anything for this it’s totally free of cost.
