Why is my computer making thunder sounds?

The first thing that needs to made sure here is whether the sound is coming from the speakers. If yes then try replacing the speakers with a spare one (earphone will also work) and see if you are still getting that sound. If no then it might be a problem with the speakers’ wiring. If you still get the sound then turn off the computer and restart it while tapping F2 key in order to load the BIOS. While in the BIOS, check for the Sound. If it is still there then, go ahead and restart the computer and load the diagnostic partition and run the express test on your hard drive. If it is not there then may be the sound was coming from some program installed in the computer (it may be a malicious program as well).  Now, restart the computer and go to the control panel. From there create a new user. Restart the computer and load the new profile, check for the sound. If the sound is still there then it is coming from some basic software which is installed. If the sound is not there then it must some specific settings in your profile which is creating that sound. Login to your profile and go to the task manager and check for the processes running and from there you can figure out which program is causing the sound. You can also check the system sounds setting from Control Panel->Hardware and Sound to ensure if it is caused by any setting there. Checking any weather update program sound settings might also help.
