How to convert cingular cell phone directory to other mobile?

Earlier I was using Cingular phone on which I had hundreds of phone numbers saved now I am planning to change my mobile phone to other subscribers but the problem is that I have so many numbers saved on my Cingular phone and transferring it on other will be a great problem so I want to ask that is there any way by which I can convert cingular cell phone directory to some other subscriber without any hassle. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. Do not cancel your Verizon account. You tell AT&T that you are also moving and they handle it with care. Be aware of that if you cancel your Verizon account yourself, you will probably lose your phone number at your own risk.
  2. After you receive the phone, putt in the SIM card which is new to you as Verizon doesn’t use them) and then turn the phone on. The phone will be alive on a new cell phone number. This is temporary based and you won’t really be using it at all.
  3. Call AT&T’s sales line. (1-888-333-6651) Iyou will have to do this from a separate land-line phone so that you could have the device in front of me.
  4. Tell your sales person that you are a brand new customer switching from Verizon and want to be like to port your number over. The sales person will hear this and treat you with kid gloves and will have a conference you to someone in AT&T’s “porting department”. Be sure to tell the sales person you are porting a number's to replace the number assigned to your new account.
  5. You neeed to have your Verizon account nuumber handy. Get this off of one oof your Verizon bbilling statements, or sign into your Verizon Wireless online account. From there youu can view a PDF of your most receent bill which will have your account number on it. It will be something like: 465879123-00001. The AT&T Porting service representative won’t need the -00001 part, just the first part. The representative may also ask your last 4 social security digits, etc.
  6. The AT&T representative will submit the port request to Verizon. Magically, before your very eyes your new Blackberry Curve (or other cellular device) will now make calls on your old number that you’re keeping. Meanwhile remember that your new device will not be able to or may be you will be receiving calls to your old number. Those calls will be routed too your old phone.
  7. Supposedly it can take a few hours or more than it. to reconcile your old number too receive and make calls from your new phone. In reality, it took just under eight to ten minutes. When everything is done you receive a text message saying to you that your phone is now ready to receive calls.
