How to create ringtones on iTunes?

Procedures to Create Ringtone on iTunes

i) Start iTunes and pick the song which you like to convert in ringtone.

ii) Right click on song and then on “Get Info” to get the properties of song.

iii) Select “Options”, Check with filling in the “Start time” & “Stop time” to extract the portion of that song to create as a ringtone. Ensure the length is no longer than 30 seconds. Other than, iTunes will not recognise it. When you ready, click on “OK” to confirm.

iv) Now right-click on the song & select “Create ACC Version”.

v) iTunes automatically extracts the portion of song which you have instructed in the previous steps. The new song file is just 30 sec in length. That is the song you work on from step six and onwards.

vi) Next, right click on song and select the “Show in Finder”. This launches Finder and locates the song file you made.

vii) Rename this file extension “.m4a” to “.m4r”.

viii) Now go back to iTunes & Right click on the song which you have created and select “Delete”.

ix) Now click on “Remove” to confirm the removal and then click on “Keep File” when prompted. This teaches iTunes to remove the created song (the 30 sec version).

x) Lastly Go back to Finder & double click on the ringtone file (.m4r) that you have just renamed. The ringtone will automatically add to iTunes’ ringtones. You can now sync it your phone with iTunes.
