CES 2008: LG flaunts phone with WiMax and GSM

The world is yet to see a cell phone that would support Sprint's Xohm WiMax system. The staus could soon change if LG is to be believed. Its newest display -a look alike of Prada - is said to be capable of running both: Sprint's WiMax and CDMA EVDO systems.

All these have been claimed by an LG representative, on hands at the CES to explain this clone. Of course, a clone cause this one look like KS20 smartphone. Now, it does have some interesting internal dynamics. It runs Windows Mobile 6 OS, is powered by Qualcom MSM7200 chipset with 400MHz processor, 128MB RAM and has a 320×240 LCD touchscreen.

The LG representative also promised "seamless handoff" between CDMA and WiMax. Is he to be believed? The clone-like looks do not inspire me with too much confidence, but the specs are an interesting proposition. With Xohm under construction, we'll know it for sure, in a couple of year's time.
