Fujitsu and NTT DoCoMo launch new health phones
Taking cellphone technology up another notch, Fujitsu and NTT DoCoMo debuted some new and interesting cellphones at this year’s Wireless Japan Expo. Made for aging users, the Raku Raku (easy easy) handsets help keep track of users’ health by keeping records of their stats. The F884iES allows user to determine their heart rate simply by placing their fingers over the camera lens which, along with the info from the built-in pedometer, can be input into a personal “health diary”.
The SH706iw and F1100 give off more detailed health information, and can receive information via infrared and Bluetooth outside sources like scales and pedometers. This info can be kept in a diary or sent directly to doctors, health clubs, diet services, or other specialists along with the onboard heart rate monitor to help them keep an eye on their patients.
