If the new iPhone were to come in a bag, it’d be nothing but a bag of good news! Not only is it going to offer faster internet connection and will be sleeker and smaller as if the last one went on a crash diet, but it will also slash down its prices and offer this version to the pre-pay customers! In UK, where the sales in general were not mind-blowing for the last version, a person taking a contract costing £75 a month will be offered the handset for no extra charge and everywhere else the price is expected to come down drastically from £269 to as £100! America, as opposed to UK, extended a warm welcome to iPhone earlier and Steve Jobs, CEO Apple, was seen in San Francisco stating his plans clearly. The iPhone is all set to go on sale in USA while UK will have to wait another month to lay their hands on this one! Well, to summarize it all, the new iPhone is user-friendlier and pocket-friendlier - the second generation has all the makings of a successful launch!

My two smartphones were stolen in a span of 3 months - Nokia N93 in Feb and last month my Nokia N95 was picked from my pocket. I was so disgusted because there wasn’t a better phone in the market than the N95, not even the iPhone as it is not a 3G phone and I didn’t want to be with an obsolete technology when the 3G spectrum is released in India in a few months.
But with this iphone and the proposed launch in India by Vodafone in August gives me a great hope. If it doesn’t cost a bomb than I shall go for it. There are iphones available in the gray markets here in India but they are cracked and should anything go wrong, I would get any support from Apple.
This is great news for guys like us.
