The Ply Concept is the Swiss Army Knife of phones

Posted By: Radhika Seth | Aug 21 2008

If you observe a piece of plywood in cross section, you will notice the multiple layers sandwiched and pasted together in a tight bind. Based on these lines is the Ply Phone concept by the Japanese design house KDDI. Designer Hideo Kanbara manages to recreate the effect convincingly. Somewhere between the layers, is hidden a projector, a printer and even a controller for games. Quite like sliding up a pack of cards, the phone slides out both sideway and up to reveal its various manifestations. It’s the ultimate All-in-one phone! More shots in the image gallery.
