What happened to Nintendo and at&t hotspots?

A few days back I read somewhere that AT&T and Nintendo were coming up with something new. The post was particularly about the wifi AT&T hotspots. Those spots were provided with free wifi internet for Nintendo by AT&T. But I haven't heard anything now about them. Is it released already. Are there places where we can now access free internet cause if its true I would like to check them out in my city. By the way I live in NY. Share what you know about it.

Nintendo and AT&T had announced about six to seven years ago that they would start making hot spots at various places across the globe to offer free Wi fi Internet services to people. They indeed have provided this service across many airports, hotels, cafes, coffee shops and malls in the United States of America.

Nintendo has hotspots in New York city at many Starbucks, McDonald's and at various other public buildings like the New York City Public Library on Murray Street, the Odeon on West Broadway, Barnes & Noble on Greenwich Street, Commodore on the Beach on 37th Street and Seawall Boulevard, etc. It also has hotspots at Actimize on 37th Street, Staples on Broadway, Mustang Harry's on 7th Avenue, the Metropolitan Museum of Art on 5th Avenue, Ziggies Cafe and Coffeehouse on 2nd Avenue, and even at the American Museum of Natural History in Central Park West. These are just indicative and the whole list can be found on the Nintendo website.

AT&T also has many hotspots in New York city. It covers the Starbucks, McDonald's, Barnes & Noble stores and FedEx offices in New York. It also is available at a number of public places like Times Square New York City Hot Zone, Grand Hyatt at Grand Central Station, the CHZ Atlantic Bank Building on Park Avenue and at the AT&T Retail Store on 5th Avenue. This list, too, is merely indicative and not exhaustive by any means. The entire list can be obtained from the AT&T website.

Hope this helps. Happy Surfing!
