Doctor Martin Cooper was the person who invented cell phone. He was the one responsible to invent the technology responsible for the cell phone. Dr. Martin Cooper is also known as the first person to make the first call on a modern cell phone or cell phone.

His first and the most revolutionary call took place in April of 1973 in New York. But even before Dr. Cooper made his invention cell phone had a history even before that. The first fully automated cell phone system MTA (Mobile Telephone system A) was launched in 1960 in Sweden.

One of the most important achievements made by MTA was that it allowed it calls to be made by the user even when he was in his car. This was made possible using a system called rotary dial. Calls from the car were direct dial, whereas the incoming calls required a person known as operator who was responsible to determine whether from which base station the phone call was made.

In 1962, Mobile System B (MTB) was introduced which was the upgraded version of mobile phones. This technology had a push-button telephone. After 9 years of MTB in use an upgraded version was again introduced in the market which was called the MTD. And after MTD all the history and new inventions are those which are known by most of us.

I hope that the above given information helps you to write the article on the history of the cell phone.
