What are the drawbacks of HTC Shift?

I own HTC Shift and it has some obvious failings such as the horrible battery life and also the 'crippled' Snapvue, which is really a locked down Windows Mobile 6 with bits removed. Wouldn't it be great if you could Liberate SnapVue by making it full WinMo 6? What is your feedback on this? Shouldn’t these errors be minimized? What do you say? Kindly revert with appropriate feedback. Thank you.

I have used the HTC shift and honestly, my personal review of the device goes to the negative side. The battery life is extremely low and the device has overheating issues. So much so that it overheats even when switched off; unless you disconnect the battery. But when you insert back the battery, you will hardly have any battery back up.

Snapvue, to me was an attractive feature in the beginning. But when I started to use the phone, I realised how sorry this semi windows mobile thing was. Although there's a nice plugin on the Snapvue homescreen, the usage is highly limited.

If you get access an email which has attachments, you sure will be able to download the attachments, but you cannot view these. It doesnt even support Mp3, PDf, word or excel. Also, there are no backlights in the keypad. This is highly inconvenient when working in darker lighting conditions. As far as minimizing these errors, lets just hope we get a better model in the future.

However, I liked the speakers and the look of the device along with the finger print reader, which works perfectly well. But again the Windows XP drivers are missing. In a nutshell, I'd say that it's a market failure.
