Why my HTC Windows mobile phone is getting hanged?

Some external devices has got the genuine antivirus but some have not and they corrupt the files of the memory card and the software of the mobile by the viruses. So for that you must update your own antivirus on your mobile and perform the full scan of the mobiles. Check if a virus found if yes than it is causing due to the virus if no than it may be causing due to corrupt or unauthorized data for that you can perform the formatting of your whole mobile. I think that by the end of these all your problem will be removed completely and your mobile will never hang in the future.
