iBall enters the realm of smartphones with Andi 2

After releasing affordable headsets, iBall is now entering the world of Android smartphones. The smartphone, named as Andi 2, is priced at Rs. 9999. In this price range, iBall has to fight against a lot of good smartphones. The manufacturer had also released Fab9 which is an entry level cellphone.

The biggest drawback with the phone is it works on Android 2.2, which is outdated now. Under the hood, phone has an 800 Mhz processor. Andi 2 has a good 3.5-inch, capacitive touchscreen display. Manufacturer has also claimed a good battery life with their 1450 mAh battery. The phone has two cameras: 3 megapixel primary and front facing VGA camera. It offers advanced connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPRS. The phone can accommodate 2 SIM cards and has micro SD card slot too. Lastly, it has a 3.5 mm jack for headphones.

iBall was initially involved in making computer peripherals and accessories, but now they are trying hard to get into cellphones and gadgets. They even made an Android based tablet PC. They have made some interesting designs of phones too, like phone for elderly people which had large buttons. Another interesting design was iBall Floater, a phone that could float on water. So we are yet to see what they will come up with upcoming months.
