I recently received two PS3’s from a buddy of mine, both are missing the HDD and the blue ray drives, and neither have the control boards for the blue ray either. I’ve read that you need the original control board to install a new drive, but seeing as I don’t have them, is there any way around this? Is it possible to install a new PS3 blue ray drive without the original blue ray control board? If not, then why is so? I would really appreciate your useful feedback regarding this. Thanks.
