Who invented the ipod?

Hi guys. I think that when we go for a particular product, we get into love with the company or the brand behind it. I think that some of the attention needs to be given to the inventors too. I wish to know that who invented the ipod? I know that it can be a tricky question as there can be the entire team behind the invention of the product as good as iPod. I hope that you guys will help me knowing the story behind the real invention. See you guys when you answer to this.

KaneKramer of England is credited with inventing the Digital Audio Player (DAP),called the "IXI" in 1979. It was the earliest form of the iPod. Apple admitsthat the I-pod is his creation. The iPod device was developed by a group ofprofessionals at Apple, who worked on it for about a year before its launch in2001. The group consisted of Jon Rubinstein, who was a senior Vice President ofthe company, Jonathan Ive, another senior Vice President, Tony Fadell, who wasa senior engineer, Michael. Dhuey, another engineer and finally Steve Jobs, whois the CEO at Apple Computer, Inc. Apple didn't invent the concept; The iPod wasfar from the first portable MP3 player. A number of companies--includingDiamond, Creative Labs, and Sony--had been selling other MP3 players for a fewyears before the iPod debuted in October 2001. The name iPod was proposed byVinnie Chieco, a freelance copywriter, who (with others) was called by Apple tofigure out how to introduce the new player to the public. After Chieco saw aprototype, he thought of the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey and the phrase"Open the pod bay door, Hal!," which refers to the white EVA Pods ofthe Discovery One spaceship.
