The main change with the arrival of the iPod nano is Apple using flash memory instead of hard drive used in the iPod classic and iPod mini. The advantages of this memory are the absence of mechanical parts, making the iPod nano is more robust and usable in more situations and its size allows you to designa much smaller iPod. In return for this support is more expensive, the memory available is less. The iPod nano works with iTunes on Mac OS X or Microsoft Windows and Applefree iTunes software. It connects to the computer via a USB cable (supplied). The iPod allows, in addition to playing music (in AAC, MP3, AIFF, WAV, Audible, Apple Lossless) to play videos (from third to fifth generation) and look at pictures(from the third generation). It also includes games, a calendar, address book, alarm, stopwatch, a combination lock to lock the iPod, and a world clock to know the time in many cities. Functions previously named, only the clock has been keptat the sixth generation. It can take 232 hours of music and more than 8 hours of video. It comes in 7 colors (silver, anthracite, orange, green, blue, pink and redproduct) and its new touch-screen.

The sixth generation was announced on 1 September 2010 .The manufacturer has opted for a radical change in shape: square, with a touch screen multi-touchsmaller (a diagonal of 1.54 inches and a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels) and a clip in order to hang like the Shuffle. Nevertheless, the screen resolution is minimal, since per page: 4 applications (2x2) It keeps the radio and the pedometer of the fifth generation, but lost the camera. The video playback feature, which appearedwith the third generation, has also disappeared. Its screen is multi-touch (the same technology as iPhone, iPod touch and iPad). There is also no mini speaker, the alarm function is therefore useful if you have a headset or a speaker connected. Bycons, you can display the default time as the first screen displayed to the wake.
Apple announces iPod battery life for this 24-hour and two capacities, 8GB and 16GB.

It's priced at 149 $ for 8 GB and for 16 GB is 179 $.
