Could you tell me about the different mobile phone plans in US?

Hi friends. I have just came to US from Spain and I wish to get a new phone for myself. I have no idea about the mobile phone service providers here and I intend to stay in US for a while and so I made up my mind to take some of help from you all. Could you tell me about the different mobile phone plans in US?Which will be the best service provider to look for. I am currently at the Los Vegas having some tour time. I hope that you all will make the answer pretty swift and easy way out for me. Adios amigos!

While buying the best cell phone plan you should first know that prepaid cell phones tend to have negative connotations associated with them due to their popularity amongst those with little to no credit, but there remain plenty of reasons for the average consumer to consider one. Of the U.S. carriers, AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM while Sprint connection, Verizon connection, and smaller carriers such as such as MetroPCS connection and U.S. Cellular use CDMA. Though Nextel is part of Sprint connection , all Nextel branded phones use a third technology called iDEN, or Integrated Digital Enhanced Network. Although, I know about a connection my close friend was using. Common Cents Mobile is a wholly -owned Sprint subsidiary, Common Cents rounds minutes down, not up. So if you've been talking to someone for 3 minutes and 43 seconds, it will only be billed as 2 minutes. Common Cents offers few other nice deals as well. All nationwide calls are 9 cents per second, period. Some Text messages, pictures messages, e-mail and IMs are all available for 7 cents apiece as well. Plans are available starting at $15 for 25 days of service, to $30 for 45 days of service, to $267 for an entire year (which works out to over 1,345 minutes of talk time for domestic calls). Unlimited messaging (which includes text messages, picture messages, e-mails and IMs) is available for an additional $20 per month. Data is available at $2/MB, per day. you can also opt for another plan i.e. Consumer cellular but I don't have details about it.
