Motorola i1 Detailed review:

Well yourchoice is 100% perfect! Motorola i1 does possess all the aspect which you havementioned in your description. It is

  1. Responsive
  2. Intuitivecapacitive touch screen
  3. A ruggedmake
  4. Hasdecent call quality
  5. And goodcamera

Let usget a little deeper into it's details, features & performance statistics.

Unique Features:

World'sfirst android smartphone with high compatibility with iDEN network. 'iDEN' is a private network designed by thecellular company 'Nextel'. Now the company is acquired by 'Sprint'. Thisnetwork gives your cellphone the ability to connect directly over wireless-PushTo Talk voice messaging system. iDENsystem dates back to the early 2000's. And has nothing to do with today's 2G or3G network systems. Inspite of being little older now it still has it's own setof advantages unlike 2G & 3G.

Design & Build:

MotorolaDesigned this phone to be solid & durable. That was the main concept aroundwhich this cellphone was built. So being said that, you get nice rugged rubberedges, measuring 4.65 inches x 2.43 inches and 0.5 inch in thickness; thecellphone feels a lot steadier in hand. Not too heavy not too light, this unitweighs just about 4.63 ounces. Roll overto some design sneak-peak as you follow:

  1. Backsurface of the cellphone has a soft-touch material-a comfort while youkey-press.
  2. Most ofthe cellphone buttons and connectivity ports are rubbery-aids in repellingwater damages by 70%.
  3. Militarycertified cellphone standards-enduring (though not persisting!) stabilityagainst dust, shocks, high temperatures, humidity & heavy rain.

User Experience Features:

  1. Customization friendly home screen
  2. Pull-upmenu for easy access to apps
  3. Newclock designs
  4. UniqueBluetooth & Wi-Fi widgets
  5. Advantageof accelerometer & proximity sensor

Display:

  1. Touchscreen with 3.1 inch HVGA
  2. 320 x480 pixel size
  3. Auto-dimfeature for adaptive capabilities in varied lighting conditions
  4. Highlyaccurate touch screen
  5. Nicescratch resistance screen coat

TheDownside points:

  1. Batterystrength is weak, meaning more charging requires but only after first 5-6months of use
  2. There isa slight lag when you are typing an e-mail or text message with good speed
  3. Tilldate this cellphone has not received any OS upgrade release, so you stick withold Android-1.5 version
  4. NoMOTOBLUR support
  5. The iDENnetwork at times makes your cellphone sluggish and may need a restart

I think Ihave covered up all the details other than the basic specs which you alreadyknow, so think about the a-fore-said details and decide whether to buy or not.Cheers!
