Pantech IM-U170 gets official, flaunts face-recognition technology

If you have a strong taste for metallic looking objects, the latest IM-U170 clamshell phone is certainly your cup-of-tea. Developed by Pantech Group, the leading Korean handset manufacturer, the IM-U170 comes wrapped in magnesium case and is submersed with electroluminescent light.

Boasting both the refinement and durability, the Pantech IM-U170 flaunts "facial recognition technology" that functions by tracing the movement of the user's face. Users have the ease of capturing their own auto-adjusted picture in the real time.

The spec sheet is cool too including a 2-megapixel camera, thickness of 15.5mm, microSD slot, HSDPA connectivity, a camera cam for UMTS video calling, WiBro, and a mirrored keypad. The face recognizing phone is available at the moment in South Korea only.
