Looking for prepaid cell phones plans: Which one is the best?

Hey friends I live in USA what I need to know is which would be the best prepaid cell phone plans in the USA? Are they better than the contract phone with Verizon? As I'm thinking of switching to either an AT&T GoPhone, or Straight Talk, because for work and school I need a Smartphone and Verizon's smartphone plans are just too expensive. Is the coverage for a prepaid phone the same as it is for regular contract phones? So please help me with your answers?

Going by the prepaid plans, it is a much saner choice for keeping an eye on your mobile bills and also is able to control it, so that you may be able to make a choice before it’s too late. Verizon wireless prepaid, virgin and tracphone all provide prepaid plans with a variety of add-on. However you may choose one according your location also, because these providers have their strongholds within geography too. You can also opt for the daily prepaid plans; supposedly if some days you need to call more than other days and so could easily keep your cost in check. If you are a much of a broadband user like me, you would also love their pay-per-use broadband plans ranging from $15 charge for a 100 MB use within 24 hours or any other such plan, as per your choice. I am using a plan from Verizon that offers 900 anytime minutes at $64.99 for monthly access and 40¢/Minute rate after allowance. They have one more plan that gives unlimited anytime minutes at $74.99 for monthly access and 25¢/Minute rate after allowance.
