Reconditioned cell phones! Is it good to use?

Reconditioned cell phones are being put on sale on many online shopping portals and I have found a lot of handsets with high end features and applications. Here, I want to get information about the fact behind reconditioned cell phones. Would it be good deal to get such handsets home? Are they safe to use? Such questions come to my mind whenever I see reconditioned cell phones. I was thinking to get LG Lotus from Sprint so has anybody bought reconditioned cell phones from Sprint? If you have, please tell me you experience and suggestions as well.

Mate, i have bought a reconditioned cell phone but not from sprint. Let me tell you buying a reconditioned cell phone proved to be a nightmare for me as it looked like a new one from it's outer case but it's software and parts started troubling me after sometime and I ended up spending an amount on it's repair for which i could have easily bought a new phone. Reconditioned cell phones do not last for too long as per my experience but as far as i've heard about sprint, they sell good quality products because if they don't do so, it'll tarnish their reputation in the market and i doubt they would do any such thing that'll harm there reputation. So, if you are planning to buy reconditioned cell phones from sprint you can give it a try but do not buy it from any other source as you may also find yourself in a similar situation as i was in. Make sure, before buying the phone LG lotus watch out for it's condition and how old it is.
