Samsung to release new Galaxy device on May 3

As the tech world is zealously waiting for the much-rumored Galaxy S3, Samsung has announced official release date for a new Galaxy device. Well, the Korean tech maker is going to publicize an unspecified Galaxy gadget on May 3, 2012 at an event to be held at London’s Earl’s Court. Of course, Galaxy S3 is about to get the official release; however, we can’t tell that it will be the device that Samsung intends to expose on that day. The company is also to surface a new 10.1-inch Galaxy Note and other models of Galaxy Tabs.

New Galaxy device on May 3

Samsung was expected to launch the third generation Galaxy S at the Mobile World Congress 2012. The company used to unveil its new Galaxy S phones at the MWC, indeed. But, this year, ahead of the world’s biggest mobile trade show in Barcelona, Spain, the Korean tech maker said that it would not launch the new Galaxy S phone. Sammy added that the device would come out in a special media event later. Will the upcoming May 3 event be that? And will Samsung surface the new version of its iPhone killer at that event?

Many analysts would like to think so. They think that the Korean tech maker has been working on a revamped version of Galaxy S for a while and it will come out of cover on May 3. The new Galaxy S3 is expected to tout several incredible features, which will make it a super smartphone out in market. As per rumors, the new Galaxy S phone will have a 4.6-inch edge-to-edge display different from its current version’s 4.3-inch display. A large display is actually the need of the time as we have almost all new Android smartphones with large displays including Samsung’s own Galaxy Nexus.

When it comes to the innards, the new Galaxy S 3 will likely boast a quad core Exynos processor. Quad core CPU is also the trend of the day. Most of newcomers into the smartphone market like HTC One X have quad core processors. So Samsung, not to be left behind, will have to integrate quad core chips to its new smartphone. The new Galaxy S3 will indeed have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, whose update has not yet completely covered the current Galaxy S version, though.

Anyway, Samsung has not told us that it is going to release the third generation Galaxy S phone on May 3. The company has just announced that we can expect a new Galaxy device on that day. It may be anything; however, the possibility for Galaxy S3 is high. In a time Apple continues to overrule the smartphone market with its new iPhone 4S and other Android makers have brilliant handsets, Samsung should stabilize its stand with a new and breathtaking version of its flagship Galaxy S phone.
