SIM-free version of the HTC Desire X now available in the UK

HTC announced the latest in its series of premium smartphone, the new Desire X way back in September earlier this year. However, the manufacturer has now announced that the smartphone will now also be offered in a SIM-free version as well. The new variant is being offered by a number of retailers and service providers through the United Kingdom and the company suggests that the phone will be sold for a maximum retail price of £218 that will be inclusive of taxes.

The new HTC smartphone is fronted by a touch enabled 4 inch WVGA LCD display which comes with a 800 x 480 pixels resolution. The phone is powered by a twin-core Qualcomm MSM8255 S4 processor from Snapdragon which boasts of around 1 GHz of processing power coupled with 768 MB of RAM. The HTC Desire X is offered with 4GB of internal memory which is expandable to up to 25 GB through free cloud storage on Dropbox.

The phone runs on the HTC Sense 4.0 UI and comes laden with the goodness of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The phone also features a LED flash-accompanied 5 megapixel rear camera that comes with autofocus and BSI sensor that allows the phone to pick and choose automatic settings depending on light conditions. The camera is also quipped to shoot 2.5 images per seconds which makes burst photography easier for smartphone users.
