what so special in rugged cell phone by Samsung?

During the last few days I got to hear a lot about the rugged cell phone series but I would like to have some more information on the subject including there pricing, range and most importantly does they really deliver their promise and stand out in extreme conditions. I live in Greenville, South Carolina. I am also not sure about what is really special in this series. Is anyone here already using the rugged cell phone series. please reply soon with your information.

i love smartphones, but i also like handsets which don't break into a million pieces if i am a bad case of butter fingers and keep dropping my cell phone. that is where Samsung comes in handy. going by its specialised, but popular tradition, of rugged handsets like the Solid Extreme, B2700 Bound and Solid M110 is the new 'Xcover E2370' - a phone which is not just tough, but very practical too.understanding its rugged credentials first, the Xcover comes with IP-54 certification which means it is resistant to the ingress of dust and dirt while also resist water splashes from any direction. IP-54 doesn't make it as tough as its IP-57 rated Solid Extreme (which could be fully submerged in water) or hardcore champs like the Sonim XP3, but it could easily bear abuse your average iPhone or Android handset would dream about. for practicality, the Xcover has a huge 67 day standby battery life - that's over two months - and a talk time of 22 hours. to achieve such massive figures, the Xcover is no technical extravaganza with simple GSM and EDGE connectivity, a small 128 x 150 pixel display and VGA camera. You shall find Bluetooth, a microSD slot and FM radio. It is also gigantic at 19mm thick and weighs 115g, but that's due to the ruggedness of handset. if you need a simple and reliable fall back phone then at under 80 euros (circa £65) you could well do with an Xcover the next time you don't want to take your prized smartphone to the beach. It should hit Europe in the next few months.
