How to sync palm treo with Jpilot?

I am facing a lot of difficulty syncing my palm treo with Jpilot. I have not been successful doing that till now. Can anyone help me with this? I tried one thing that I read somewhere. It was adding a line etc/usbd.conf just above the fallthrough entry. The line was: / device "Palm" devname "ucom[0-9]*" attach "chmod 0666 /dev/ucom* /dev/ttyU* /dev/cuaU*"/ /kldload ucom kldload uvisor / Please help out what needs to be done?

I read your whole situation and as I understand it. Jpilot is notnormally installed in Ubuntu -- you have to install it yourself. So the typicalUbuntu user will be unaware of it. Most of the people try to sync it with othersoftware like you have done it syncing your palm Treo with Jpilot. Based on myexperiments, the only way to permanently disable the gnome-pilot sync daemonafter you have set it up is to open the hidden directory .gnome2 and delete thegnome-pilot.d directory. And the thing officialPalm software has lots of warnings saying to never run more than one conduit onthe same data. And when something goes wrong, the best you can do is restorefrom a backup before the error. At worst you can do a hard-reset of the Palmand start entering your data from scratch.
