Twitter for Android gets revamped, introduces new ‘discovery’ feature

Ok, here’s an interesting news flash that chatters about spicing up your social networking experience and refurbishing your entire interaction with people around. Well, to clear the dust, the adorable little blue birdie that tweets and chirps all throughout has just unleashed a new update to Twitter for Android application. So rather than merely fixing the bugs, the latest version focuses on overall enhancing your social networking experience.

To begin with, you will now notice ‘better search’ options across the board. So whether you want suggestions or need recommendations for different spellings, the revamped app will serve you with just about everything. Finding the people you are rifling through has got faster, too.

For which, users can simply type in the username or first or last name of the person they are searching for – but in the Connect tab. In addition to improved search options, Twitter for Android has also unveiled a new ‘Discover’ feature which allows users to find timely and interesting content that matters to them.

In fact, the app now lets users glance through Activity on their Android handset, which basically is a stream of updates. Lastly, the company has included push notifications for interactions. By playing on it, users can conveniently know immediately when their Tweets have been marked as favorite or retweeted. Users will even get to know if somebody new follows their account.

Although the verdict is not still out on whether or not it’s better than the previous versions, the new upgrade for Android definitely seems to be a great perk for social buffs. But on a genuine note, this amazing amalgamation of push notifications, better search features and new discovery function under one roof should shoot the right stars.
