Hi…I'll tell you in detail. When you buy a mobile phone you get the phone configured with the provider’s network. This is because cell phone companies has contract with different mobile operator service providers, so as to increase the sale. That is the reason you see the name of the service provider when you buy a new phone. The phone also comes with a SIM (service identity module)which through which calls are possible and it contains all the info about your bio data. An unlocked cell phone is a phone that is not configured or programmed to any specific provider network and can access multiple networks by changing the SIM card. There are many advantages of the phone like you it allows you to choose the network if you don’t like the services of your current service operator. Also it comes handy, when you want to go to abroad and you don’t want to spend more money on buying new phone. Thanks
