How to upgrade an iPhone 4 to iOS 5 without access to the owner’s Mac?

My parents are coming into town and I’d like to get my Dad’s iPhone updated to iOS 5. He doesn’t have a laptop and his Powermac G5 is running. Anyway, he won’t have it with him when he’s here. I doubt he has much in the way of music and apps on his phone, but he does have a lot of contacts and photos. I have Macs here that I can use to upgrade his software, but I don’t want his phone tied to my computer after the upgrade. It’ll only confuse him when he gets home. I want him backing up to iCloud. What strategy would you use to make sure he and the phone have a successful grade? How to upgrade an iPhone 4 to iOS 5 without access to the owner’s Mac? I would really appreciate your useful information regarding this. Thanks.
