Verizon Cell Phone Coverage in Mexico?

I am using a Verizon cell phone since last two years, it provides a very good service here in California. But now I am shifting to Mexico by next month and want to know about the Verizon cell phone coverage there, I don’t want to switch to any other network service as it provides very good offer and plans at very reasonable rates. So any one in Mexico who use Verizon network for there cell phone, please let me know about the network coverage and plan offers of the Verizon cell phone.

If you need to do a lot of voice communication this sounds like the ideal solution. Unfortunately I’ve also heard that their Blackberry service has a lot of trouble connecting–even in Mexico City. This might have been because of phone configuration issues, so it might work out well for others. You can even consider Sprint/ Nextel. I’m not sure what type of rate they have available, but it might be worth checking out. In particular the Nextel service has direct connect which in some cases could be a very good deal–depending on what you need. But if you strictly want to stick to Verizon then it can prove to be good choice depending upon your needs.
