Is there any multitasking problem in Verizon iPhone?


I have an iPhone 3GS and was planning on getting a Verizon iPhone, but then I found out that there was no multitasking. However, I do remember if I edited a certain list on my 3GS after I jail broke it, I could enable multitasking for it. Could I just jailbreak the Verizon iPhone and do the same? I am still under my current two year contract with my Smartphone, so what will it take to switch to an iPhone? Expert answers only please!
