ViewPhone 3 was first uncovered at the 2011 Mobile World Congress with Android 2.2 Froyo. The device is now announced to hit stores with the Gingerbread and a 3.5-inch HVGA TFT LCD display that packs a moderate resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Under the hood, the ViewPhone 3 has a an 800MHz CPU, 512MB of RAM, ROM and a microSD slot that will support external memory cards up to 32GB capacity.

For connectivity, the ViewPhone 3 has Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, quadband GSM and HSDPA (7.2Mbps). The handset also features Wi-Fi hotspot, integrated GPS/AGPS, a 3.5mm jack, Gyro-sensor and much more. A standard 1500 mAh battery provides a decent life for the device on single charge. The ViewSonic handset also sports a 5-megapixel rear camera sans LED flash for image capturing.

What makes the ViewPhone 3 special are its dual SIM capability and Gingerbread firmware. The recent version of the firmware has a nice interface and comes with lots of useful apps and programs. The dual SIM compatible handset will be useful for those who have to keep two mobile numbers; perhaps one official and one personal. Here, Dual SIM feature becomes a blessing for customers, who can use both the SIM cards in a single phone.

The new inexpensive handset from ViewSonic has a nice design as well. The device is encased in black leather that touts a soft touch texture and smooth body. Indeed, the material gives a distinctive and classic look for the handset. For brilliant sound, the gadget flaunts SRS TruMedia surround sound and it also offers superior audio experience, ViewSonic boasts.

In Indian market, the ViewSonic ViewPhone 3 (V350) will compete with a line of affordable dual SIM Android phones such as Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos, Galaxy Y Duos, Micromax Superfone Lite, Micromax Ninja and others. The new ViewPhone 3 will come for a price below Rs. 10,000 in India. ViewSonic has signed a deal with Reliance Digital to sell out the handset in the country. Hopefully, the device will soon arrive in stores as yet another member to the country’s already congested low-priced dual SIM smartphone arena.
