I am a Vodafone subscriber in India having an HTC desire. But there is one problem occurring now days. There is activation problem and I have gone through the procedure that is first test was like remove card and battery and hard boot and check. Keep data service off and reboot and put it on. Then change sim card then format your phone. It didn’t work and I am stuck and don’t know what to do. Can anyone please guide me what to do to get this thing activated so that I can get my desire in capital and get it done?

First check if your SIM is activated. You will find the activation key on the SIM starter pack provided to you by Vodafone. It also includes your password/PIN for inquiry. Your SIM should be in your phone obviously when you are activating it and the handset switched on. After offering the valid identification, just follow the prompts and you should be good to go. Remember that you can’t activate your SIM unless you have completed your registration.

In case you need to activate Vodafone Live, then go to settings followed by Wireless and Network. Lastly, go to the Mobile Networks and set all the necessary options including roaming, the network and Access Point Names. Hit the Menu button and select New APN from it. Follow this by entering the settings mentioned below:.

Name: Vodafone Live

APN: www or portalnmms

IP Address: 10.10.1.100

IP Address: Port: 9401

MMSC: mms1.live.vodafone

Authetication type: PAP

APN type: You will have to type the default

As for the MCC and MNC values, they should be there automatically and you have to keep all other fields in the above settings blank.

In case GPRS doesn’t work for you with these settings, you may have to subscribe to the Vodafone Mobile plan which should then just work fine.

You can call the Vodafone India customer service, in case, these settings don't work for you.
