Can I use VoIP using my cell phone number?

I have a home office in my basement with horrible cell AT&T coverage (probably not unique to AT&T). I would like to make and receive calls on my cell phone number while working in that office. Instead of forwarding the number to a land line, do I have another option like cell carriers supporting VoIP to use either the cell phone or any other Wi Fi phone for making and receiving calls based on my cell phone number?

Make and receive free voice calls over the Internet through is not new.Anyone know Skype or Google Talk. However, when I say I mean VoIP SIP protocol, and multiple systems interconnected through this, providing a huge range of services and capabilities beyond what Skype and its closed system can provide. The SIP system consists of three types of nodes: user agents, records, and intermediaries.

User agents are SIP capable phones. Some of these phones are very similar to a conventional landline or wireless but connected to a computer network. Many modern cell phones are compatible with SIP directly or through additional software. A desktop or laptop can be easily configured as a SIP phone. My phone is a SIP phone connected to the Internet running Android software Sipdroid.

Records are systems that store the actual Internet address of a SIP phone, associating it with a SIP address. For example, my SIP address is sip: rupp@pbxes.com. If someone uses a SIP phone to call the address, my phone will communicate with SIP because it knows how to locate the record.

Intermediaries are systems that are responsible for forwarding the requests from SIP user agents, for example to start or end a conversation, etc.. For the moment we consider intermediaries as attachments to records systems, and ignore them.

Today we speak of a certain topic that interests you: your pocket.Specifically how to make local or international prices of laughter (and even free in some cases) with our Android.

One of the great advantages that incorporates Gingerbread (Android 2.3) is the inclusion of the configuration of these possibilities out, without having to install any additional software. But calm will not have to wait to have it, as well (of course) provide solutions for previous versions (at the end of the day are the overwhelming majority). Incredible but true, no wonder we get tired of Android.
